CinemAmbiente – Environmental Film Festival was founded by Gaetano Capizzi in 1998 with the aim of presenting outstanding environmental films that promote cinema and green awareness.
The Festival is organized by the National Cinema Museum - Maria Adriana Prolo Foundation, Turin – Italy.
CinemAmbiente has grown over the years and today is one of the most important environmental film festivals in the international scene.
Cinemambiente is member of the Green Film Network, the association of the world's major environmental film festivals.
CinemAmbiente program features over 100 selected films, screened in the competition categories, as well as in the special categories (Special Events, Panorama).
Besides film screenings, the program includes debates, meetings with the authors, Q&A, exhibitions, book presentations, theatre and concerts, and events in and around Turin.
The 29th CinemAmbiente – Environmental Film Festival will take place from June 3rd to 7th, 2026, in Turin, Italy.
The deadline for all applications is March 28th, 2026.
Qualified juries, each composed of recognized figures in cinema, culture, and environmental activism appointed by the Festival’s Direction, will assign official prizes.

To the film that best combines environmental issues and the social dimension
- Casacomune Award
All movies will be considered for the award.
To the film or author best able to reflect themes related to spirituality, understood as a dimension closely linked to the nature of which we are a part.
- Slow Food Award
All movies will be considered for the award.
To the film that best addresses the complex and multifaceted relationship between food, agriculture, and the environment.
Other Prizes or Special mentions will be announced.
