Cheryl White is a multi-award winning scriptwriter, director and producer.
Her part-animated film ‘Before Babel’ won ‘Best Sussex and Kent short’ at the inaugural Rye International Film Festival 2015 and ‘Best Film’ and ‘Most Innovative Film’ at the WOW Festival in 2014. She also won ‘Best Film’ at the Edge of the City film festival 2012 for the second in her series of silent films ‘In Which a Wife Suffers a Loss’.
After completing her Masters (Plays and Scripts) at City University in 2007, her final project ‘Petya’s Story’ was produced by STET The English Language Theatre as part of the Hague Festivals 2008. It subsequently travelled to the Rosemary Branch, London in 2009.
Other scriptwriting credits include: ‘A Lighthouse in Breaking Waves’ (2016); ‘The Special Offer’ as part of the London Calling Play project 2012; the web series ‘Anyone’s Game’ (2012); ‘In Which a Lady Suffers a Loss’ (2010); ‘Abulia’, London New Play Festival (2009); ‘Queen's Crescent’, a site specific piece for the Parlour Gallery (2007), ‘The Kiss’, directed by Michael Bray (2007); Thrill of a Lifetime, City Shorts festival, Pleasance London (2006).
Cheryl has also written a number of training videos, promotional animations and corporate films. She is also a published poet with her first collection due in 2016.
She was shortlisted for the BBC Writers Academy in 2011 and has lived in Australia and the Netherlands. She currently lives in the UK and is in pre-production on her first feature film.
