We are thrilled to announce the call for entries for the "Celebrate the World: Festivities in Film" audiovisual showcase, held within the context of the vibrant Pubenza Carnivals in Popayán, Colombia.

This showcase aims to be a visual and sonic bridge that explores, honors, and celebrates the immense diversity of festivals, rituals, and traditions that give color and meaning to life around the globe. We seek films that capture the profound spirit of human celebration.

We are seeking feature films, documentaries, and short films that capture the essence, emotion, and deep meaning of cultural celebrations and traditions from any part of the world.

We encourage submissions focusing on:
Vibrant Carnivals: From famous parades to local street parties.
Ancestral Rituals: Ceremonies and practices that connect communities with their past.
Traditional & Patron Saint Festivals: Commemorations centered around religious, historical, or cultural symbols.
Unique Celebrations: Singular events that showcase a culture's worldview and creativity.

Nos complace anunciar la apertura de la convocatoria para la muestra de cine "Celebra el Mundo: Festividades en el Cine". Esta muestra tiene como objetivo explorar y celebrar la diversidad de festividades y rituales alrededor del mundo a través del arte cinematográfico.

Buscamos películas, documentales y cortometrajes que capturen la esencia de las celebraciones y tradiciones de diversas culturas, mostrando cómo los pueblos de distintas regiones del mundo conmemoran sus eventos más significativos. Ya sea una fiesta tradicional, un carnaval vibrante, un ritual ancestral o una festividad religiosa, queremos que su trabajo forme parte de esta experiencia única.

Requisitos de Participación:

Las obras deben centrarse en festividades y rituales culturales.
Pueden participar largometrajes, cortometrajes y documentales.
Las producciones deben estar subtituladas en español si no son originalmente en este idioma.

Awards & Prizes

This is a cultural, non-competitive showcase. No monetary prizes will be awarded, but a Certificate of Participation will be provided.

Rules & Terms

If the original language is not Spanish, the work must be mandatory subtitled in Spanish.

By submitting, the participant warrants they own all exhibition rights and authorizes the film's non-commercial screening during the event dates in Popayán.
