Catherine is an award winning writer/director, actress and musician. Her screenplay, Parallel Chords, received a grant funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, and the feature was chosen for two Regional Arts Commission grants. She received a "Best Feature Writer" award sponsored by the Writer's Guild of America, West at the LA Femme International Film Festival. And the film won Best Cinematography, Production Design, Best Narrative Feature and was selected for the Emerging Director / New Filmmaker's Forum of the St. Louis International Film Festival. She was selected for the Kranzberg Arts Foundation artist/filmmaker residency 2021-23. Her current dramatic project with experimental undertones is "Broken Strings", about artists and activists in St. Louis and beyond. Working in multiple formats - short, feature, series, stage, and multi-media collaboration and building local opportunities is a key focus.
Catherine is the only member in Missouri of Film Fatales, a global organization of female film directors who have been selected by qualifying festivals and/or theatrically released a feature film. Parallel Chords has distribution and is on Amazon, iTunes, YouTube, Googleplay, Roku, tubi
The short version of Parallel Chords screened over 40 times in film festivals nationally, and won Best Short Film, Best Sound, a cash prize Curator's Pick in Seattle, and a Jury Award for Excellence in Music. She was a kick off speaker at the female-director driven Citizen Jane Film Festival alongside Allison Bagnall (Buffalo 66, Dish and the Spoon w/Greta Gerwig) and Mo Scarpelli (Frame by Frame). She's currently experimenting with short form narrative work.
Catherine is a National Film Challenge winner, and a teaching and performing artist who has shared the stage with Academy Award winners, and Grammy winning artists. She combines her background in music, stage, and film and has taught at the Broadway Theater Institute, and the Vassar NY Stage & Film program, and been commissioned to write three other screenplays. She consults on scripts, and is the owner and founder of 2 focus films which originated in NYC.
