Cameron Beyl is an award-winning director and writer of independent features, shorts, and documentaries. His work has been featured in numerous film festivals, museums and online media outlets like Sight & Sound Magazine, The Huffington Post, Vice Creators Project, Indiewire, and Slate. His narrative works have claimed top festival honors, lauded for their striking visuals and resonant storytelling. His ongoing video essay project, THE DIRECTORS SERIES, has also established him as a prominent voice in the world of online film scholarship, with Indiewire citing the project as a “significant contribution” to the discipline.
A graduate of Emerson College's film production program, Cameron made his professional debut at the 2009 Zero Film Festival, taking home the Best Feature award for his experimental microbudget drama, SO LONG, LONESOME. The 2012 Oregon Independent Film Festival awarded the Best Director prize on his follow-up feature, the entirely-improvised character drama, HERE BUILD YOUR HOMES. In the years since, he has steadily built up a body of work that includes music videos, promotional content, and short narratives. His latest feature, THE VEIL, is eyeing a 2023 premiere on the festival circuit. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife & daughter.
