The Brampton International Film Festival (BIFF) is committed to inspire the spirited community of filmmakers/artists worldwide. With it being BIFF’s first year, it is an online screen and awards event only; however, as we expand and grow internationally throughout the years, we will have live screenings and a live audience which will allow new awards to be incorporated into the festival. In brief, we hope to intertwine emerging and established professionals, and provide an event where all filmmakers, including students, can display their films in public to gain publicity and to grow within the film industry, which is our ultimate goal.

Best Film of the Festival
Best Cinematography
Best Actor
Best Actress

Depending upon the number of entries for each category and the quality of films submitted, we could also award:

Filmmakers can submit as many entries as they wish. If your film wins this year, you cannot submit the same winning film for again.

All winning films will be given an official Brampton International Film Festival (BIFF) printable Award Certificate for their specified award, only for the first year.

All films of any genre and proper format are eligible to win/be nominated to one or more of these awards.

A film with more than one category (e.g. Documentary and Experimental) can be nominated for both ‘Documentary’ and ‘Experimental’ award.

Even though, as usual, each film has its own page, the submitter can decide whether they want their full film uploaded/embedded on our website. If not, a trailer must be provided. Please note that the judging will be the same.

Winners will receive their Award Certificate by email from the day of announcement, so please do make sure that you send your email as well, or else no BIFF Certificate Award will be sent.

By submitting your film to our festival, you agree that your piece of work (full film or trailer) can be uploaded/embed on our website for promotional purposes. The filmmaker/institution that is submitting the film must own the rights to do so and is responsible for the content they are providing. Also, the entry fee is not refundable for films that did not get nominated.

Services
By submitting your service request on our website you agree to let us use your submitted data to create what you have asked for. All services will be delivered as specified in the ‘Services’ page. All “promotional” reviews will be published on our website and social platforms. You can also request the removal of your “promotional” review by the end of the competition.

How Does it Work?

After the submission is complete and the film is nominated for an award, we will upload/embed your film/trailer on our Facebook page and/or website for everyone to see. Winning films will be highlighted.

Notification
One month before the event, BIFF will announce the nominations for every award. During the day of the event (April 17th, 2016), the winners will be chosen and notified by email for each award.

Winners & nominees will be previewed on the website after the competition ends, unless the submitter requests not to keep it up.
