Ben’s 20s revolved around working closely with many of music’s most revered artists. After years scripting daily MTV News bulletins, backstage roles on spectacular EMAs and interviewing megastars, Ben left his dream job to become an independent film-maker and pursue his passion for producing authentic documentaries which distinctively celebrate its subject.
As a director he prides himself in making positive, good-vibe content so artists feel comfortable around his camera and enabling their personalities to shine as brightly as their brilliant talent. Last summer Ben was on Muse’s stadium tour across Europe as their wireless stage camera.
Access docs for Radio 1 on breakthrough bands Catfish and the Bottlemen, Slaves and Wolf Alice was followed by intimate studio filming with Royal Blood in Brussels, thrilling music videos and touring the world from Mexico City to the Sydney Opera House via Siberia. Ben’s music credits include producing global streams of the BRIT Awards for YouTube, live studio shows for 4Music, gig highlights of Ibiza Rocks and War Child’s BRITs Week, hit BBC iPlayer series The World’s Most Extreme Festivals and My Hero: UK Foo Fighters, as well as VT shooting for the legendary Later... with Jools Holland and festival coverage for Red Bull. Ben’s feature-length documentary on Stereophonics songwriter Kelly Jones, telling his personal story of 2019 with access around his acclaimed solo tour, is set for release this year.
