Like how some of those movies taught me to look at life clearly, I hope to make movies that will do the same to others and in the process to me too. I will be happy if my films contribute to the thriving of more compassionate humanity.
Balaram J is a writer, designer and independent filmmaker from Kerala, India. He is a Communication Design graduate from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. He created animation for the visionary filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery's feature films Jallikattu (2019) and Churuli (2021). His thesis film 'Story of a beginning' (2020) talks about differences in beliefs and the importance of accepting them as they are. The film traveled to more than 50 international film festivals.
His stories are born from observing life around and his personal experiences. He craves stories that make him a better human and he wishes to make films that do the same to others. He enjoys telling compelling stories using different visual mediums and hopes to push the limits of existing visual communication methods. Currently, he is working on few music videos and a feature film script.
Not number of years, but number of actions.
