Baby Luck (Brittany Ballard) is a true multi-hyphenate artist: a filmmaker-writer-producer-podcaster-host-performer-painter-recording artist-DJ. She's a mother to two wild and free daughters, ages 4 and 6, and a novice Death Doula.
She is the co-creator/host of UNSENT, a live show and podcast where brave souls share messages they wrote but never sent, or wish they never had! She is a 150 Artist, currently developing a TV series based on Unsent letters, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. Her latest Unsent Live Show took place this February in Denver and it was a magical, sold out show!
She recently wrote, directed, produced and starred in "Wolf", an award-winning short film (premiered at Urbanworld and Cinequest Film Fests). She has directed 5 music videos for Plump Records, including "Cute", for which she won Best Underground Music Video at the Clubbing TV Awards." "Cute" had its festival premiere at BENDfilm. Her latest music video for "I'm Hutchtastic" won Best Nature Film at Experimental Fest and Best Music Video at Bizarre & Erotic Fest. She also directed the video for "Backstroke" (by Kevin Knapp feat. Baby Luck) for the renowned electronic label, Repopulate Mars.
She won Best Feature Screenplay at Cinecause Fueling Female Filmmakers for her screen adaptation of the novel, Daughter’s Keeper, by Ayelet Waldman. She also won Denver Write Club with her short story "Chopin”, which she is currently developing into a film trilogy. Her Unsent letter to her mother, “Things I Haven’t Told You”, was recently published in Suspect Press Magazine. She also directed/starred in the limited web series and companion podcast ("Hot Mess" and "Instafam").
Additionally, Brittany produces films and music videos, most notably the award-winning indie feature, The American Dream (Image Entertainment) and "The Perils” music video for rapper Old Man Saxon, which had over 1 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours.
In the music space, Brittany is Baby Luck - a recording artist and DJ. She's collaborated with the likes of Hannah Wants, Sacha Robotti, Kevin Knapp, and Old Man Saxon. Her debut EP, "Touchy Feely" dropped on Plump Records in May, and her latest single, "Play With Me" is out now on Plump. She is also known for her fun and dance-filled electronic DJ sets!
Most recently, Baby Luck writes a robust monthly newsletter, "The Overflow" and co-hosts the "Britt & Sax" podcast with her husband, rapper/comedian Old Man Saxon.
In her former life, she managed the FILM FORWARD cultural exchange program at Sundance Institute, served as Director of Programming at Urbanworld Film Festival, served as Programmer at Santa Barbara Film Festival, served as Head of Acquisitions at Newmarket Films, and taught Media Literacy at Step Up Women's Network.
