The Boston Asian American Film Festival (BAAFF) empowers Asian American & Pacific Islanders through film by showcasing AAPI experiences and serving as a resource to filmmakers and the Greater Boston Community. BAAFF is a production of the Asian American Resource Workshop.

Rules & Terms

(1) Films must have been completed within 5 years.
(2) Submissions can be of any of the following: narratives, dramas, comedies, shorts, documentaries, animations, music videos and experimental films.

    BAAFF was such an amazing experience! Though we couldn't attend the festival, they went above and beyond to allow us to participate from afar - including a zoom Q&A for our screening. It is so clear that the festival is truly caring about its filmmakers and I highly recommend submitting!

    We were thrilled to participate in the Boston Asian American Festival with our feature film. Although we were not able to attend in person they organized a zoom Q&A which went very well. The festival is well run with prompt and professional communication, we will definitely submit future work and hope to be able to attend in person next time.

    As a first time filmmaker I needed a lot of hand-holding and Ellen was there for me every step of the way. And the digital team did a great job of cross-promoting on social media. A lot of my friends had difficulty figuring out how to purchase tickets, access the film and vote so those interfaces could be improved. But the community, encouragement and support were excellent. Thank you all!
