Aplimedia AI Film Festival is an international online film festival dedicated to exploring the creative possibilities of artificial intelligence in cinema.
The festival celebrates films that are created with the assistance of AI, focused on artificial intelligence as a subject, or experimenting with new forms of storytelling through emerging technologies. We welcome works that challenge traditional filmmaking and reflect on the relationship between humans, machines, and creativity.
Our goal is to provide a platform for filmmakers, artists, and innovators who are using AI as a tool for expression, whether in scriptwriting, image generation, sound design, editing, or conceptual development.
The festival is conducted as an online awards event, allowing creators from around the world to participate without geographical limitations. Selected films will receive official laurels and awards, and winning projects will be promoted through our festival channels.
Aplimedia AI Film Festival values originality, artistic vision, and thoughtful use of artificial intelligence. We are especially interested in works that provoke discussion about the ethical, social, and creative impact of AI in today’s world.
This festival is open to short films, feature films, experimental works, animations, and documentaries produced using AI tools or addressing AI-related themes.
Submissions are accepted from January 1 to May 3, 2026.
Selected films will be reviewed and voted online until May 31, 2026.
The festival is primarily online.
Awards will be announced at a free, invitation-only closing event in Bilbao in June 2026.

Awards & Prizes
The Aplimedia AI Film Festival will recognize outstanding films created with or about artificial intelligence through both general awards and category-specific awards.
General Awards
Awards will be granted to the three best films of the festival, regardless of category:
Best AI Film – First Prize
Best AI Film – Second Prize
Best AI Film – Third Prize
Category Awards
In addition, the festival will award Best Film by Section in the following categories:
Best AI Comedy Film
Best AI Drama Film
Best AI Animation Film
Best AI Science Fiction Film
Best AI Documentary Film
Selected films will receive Official Selection laurels, and all winners will be awarded official festival laurels and digital certificates.
Cash prizes are planned for the general awards and/or selected categories.
The final prize amounts and distribution will be announced once sponsorships and exhibitor participation are confirmed.
All award winners will be announced on the official festival website and communication channels. Laurels may be used by the winners for promotional purposes.
The jury will evaluate submissions based on originality, artistic quality, creative use of artificial intelligence, and overall impact.
