Anderson Matthew is an artist and filmmaker living and working in Los Angeles. His work centers around multiplicity of perspectives and queer experience. He is the writer and director of the upcoming feature film Baja Come Down and creator of Deviant Proposals: An Anti-Binary Journal published by Candor Arts. His film work includes short, experimental and documentary projects which have shown internationally.
His short films have played at festivals such as Interfilm Berlin, Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Tampere FF, Cheries Cheris, Mezipatra, Mardi Gras FF Sydney, and many more. He's worked with the Staatsoper Stuttgart on a commissioned film, 'dei notturni splendori'. His first solo exhibition 'Some Things Hidden / Some Things Undone' including new film works on super 8mm and 35mm, and took place in Los Angeles at Flower Head in 2021. He is co-creator of Shadow Kitchen, a Los Angeles filmmaker collaborative, and co-creator of the LA Cinema Calendar. He holds a BFA from Chapman University.
