Alexandros Rellos graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Film Department, A.U.Th. in July 2020 with a commendation of excellency. In 2018, he wrote, directed and produced the documentary TV Series, “Ti Fasi?”, which aired on Hellenic Parliament TV for the season 2018-2019 and two episodes were also screened at the 21st Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
His short film script, “TolisLive or (Toronto)” was awarded by the Hellenic Film Academy at the Short Film Fund programme and was co-produced by COSMOTE TV (Cable TV Network). The completed film received a Special Award for Best Newcomer Director at the 44th Drama International Short Film Festival, a Best Director Award from the Greek Directors’ Guild, a Best Student Film Award and an Audience Award at Aigio International Film Festival whilst it participated also in more than 20 International Festivals.
Moreover, the director is a Sarajevo Talents 2020 alumnus and his TV script titled “Cherry & Zucchini” is selected at this year’s CineKid Lab and will be presented at Berlinale.
His last short film “Summer Breeze” supported by the Ministry of Culture premiered at Athens International Film Festival “Opening Nights” and awarded at Cannes World Festival for Best Foreign Film while his short film script “hero” was awarded by the Greek Writers’ Guild and at the Pitching Lab of Split Mediterranean Film Festival. The script will be also presented at the Drama Pitching Lab this September. Additionally, he recently written and directed an episode for the TV Documentary Series “Es Avrion Ta Spoudaia”, which was produced by ERT.
Furthermore, he has worked as a First Assistant Director in various TV projects and feature films like “Thank you for Banking with Us” by Laila Abbas and “Small Things that Went Wrong” by Haris Vafeiadis. He has worked as a writer for the TV Series “Wild Land” and as a video editor for Singapore Management University, School of Economics, while he currently teaches “Acting for Cinema & TV” at the Theatre of Changes.
Last but not least, in 2022, he was selected to participate to Oxbelly Script Analysis Course with a full scholarship. His previous studies include Acting and Theory of Theatre at National Theatre of Northern Greece (July-December 2015), a fact that led him to participate as an actor in many short films and the 90th Anniversary TV Spot of A.U.Th.
