Adrien Benson is an award-winning fiction filmmaker, playwright and performer. Born in Kingston, Ontario and raised in a French and English household, his work uses genre filmmaking as a means to explore themes of bilingualism, identity and belonging. In 2013, he was awarded both the writing and directing award for his comedic one-act play, Nought at the Opera, which premiered at the Glendon College Theatre Festival.
In 2014, his short film Entrain screened at more than a dozen festivals around the world and won the Clover and Maggie Award at the Cleveland International Film Festival. He is currently based in Toronto, where he is completing an MFA in Film Production at York University.
