Aaryan Chandra Prakash is a Award Winning filmmaker and storyteller from the Northern Indian State of Bihar. His work explores the intersection of rural life, memory, and the inner worlds of people often unseen in mainstream cinema. Growing up in the landscapes he now films, his visual language is rooted in stillness, silence, and the poetry of everyday existence.
He is deeply motivated to tell stories from marginalised communities that have no filmmaking legacy and to bring forth women’s experiences with empathy and intimacy. His sensitivity toward women’s lives comes from his closeness to his mother and his relationship with nature. Alongside filmmaking, Aaryan conducts nature walks and storytelling sessions, inviting people to slow down and observe to reconnect with the world around them.
His debut feature, Aājoor, is the first-ever film made in the Bajjika language, produced with local communities and non-professional actors. Screened till now at more than 15 Film Festivals internationally.
Currently He is serving as Director of Shrirampur Samvad Foundation (www.shrirampur samvad.org), a grassroots initiative that runs creative, educational, and ecological programs in the rural community. Organasation mission has been to empower rural voices through cinema and dialogue, bridging art and real social transformation.
The Foundation has hosted over a hundred mentors from across the world to empower the rural community in Bihar, a region deeply affected by migration, yet profoundly rooted in the birthplace of Maa Goddess Sita.
