Thank you, Chris and team, for featuring "Stoop Chat with Maani & Mr. Sweat"! I wasn't able to make it in person, but I sent my local Ann Arbor cousins and they really enjoyed it.

A2BFF is an essential addition to the Ann Arbor cultural scene. Chris Anderson, the festival's founding director, not only gives Black filmmakers and films about important Black figures a platform; he actively promotes dialogue among filmmakers and between filmmakers and the community while encouraging attendees to consider and explore the history in their own backyard. The whole weekend felt like an oasis of inclusivity and thoughtful art and conversation against the backdrop of insane current events, and the AADL and Third Mind Books proved to be perfect new venues as the festival expanded beyond the State Theater. Please support A2BFFl as it enters its third year by submitting your films, volunteering, or donating to the cause if you're able. Chris and his team of volunteers are doing something special, and it would be terrific to see it grow!

  • Amazing festival! Great staff who helped make the event so special and memorable! My film Huey was screened in the amazing State Theater in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor which in itself is a dream come true! Will definitely be returning to the festival next year!
