Zoë Greenbaum is a Brooklyn and London-based, award-winning writer-director. Her feature-length screenplay, Hanging Gardens of the Sea and Sky, a musical comedy-drama with magical-realist touches, has had 14 nominations and awards in the past year including: top-10 finalist in Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope Screenwriting Competition(with Mr Coppola as the guest judge), finalist at the prestigious Flickers’ Rhode Island film festival, as well a top 10 nomination in Nantucket’s Tony Cox Screenwriting Awards.
Ms. Greenbaum’s 23 minute short, We Are Bleach (2022),a vibrant, music-driven film about two pansexual punk rockers, immediately garnered Best Indie Short and Best LGBT+ awards in Amsterdam and London, on the same day. “Reminiscent of a young Todd Haynes,” Bleach received an Audience Choice award in New York this fall and an Emerging Talent Award in London. The film continues to be shown in festivals throughout the US and Europe.
Zoë’s most recent project, The Weather Just Got Sexy, is a wild and wonderful, ensemble comedy featuring a cast of young and brilliant British actors and musicians. Called a "lighter Mamet," the script won Best International Screenplay earlier this year in Amsterdam and is currently in a joyous state of development.
When she is not making films, Zoë is a singer/songwriter. She looks forward to releasing her first album, Lost in London, written with Grammy nominee and lead songwriter for EMF, Ian Dench.
