The Yorkshire Horror Film Festival welcomes any film that may be considered horror, including works of a disturbing, dark, or frightening nature, as well as dark art and experimental pieces within the genre.
Subtitles:
All foreign-language films must include English subtitles.
If your film contains any non-English dialogue, English subtitles must be burned into the film prior to submission. Subtitles must be accurate and properly timed.
Submission Format:
We only accept submissions via online screener (through FilmFreeway).
If your film is selected for exhibition, you will be required to provide a MOV or MP4 file.
If submitting via a file-sharing service, please ensure the link remains active for at least 30 days.
Submissions Policy:
No DVDs, Blu-rays, or any physical media will be accepted.
Only MP4 files will be used for theatrical screening.
DCPs are not accepted.
The festival does not edit or alter films. Minor presentation-only adjustments may occur, such as trimming long lead-ins/lead-outs or shortening credits that exceed one minute.
There is no required production date. Older work and new work are equally welcome.

By submitting to the Yorkshire Horror Film Festival, I, the undersigned, acknowledge and agree:
I have read, understood, and fully comply with all Submission Guidelines, Terms and Conditions, and Eligibility Requirements.
All information provided in this submission is true to the best of my knowledge.
This film or video is not currently involved in any litigation, nor is litigation pending or threatened.
I am duly authorized to submit this film to the festival.
I hold the Yorkshire Horror Film Festival harmless from any damage to the film or media materials en route or during the festival’s possession.
I hold the Yorkshire Horror Film Festival, its owners, organizers, juries, subsidiaries, sponsors, agents, and affiliates harmless from any and all liability claims resulting from my entry or participation.
I certify that I have full rights to all music, audio, and visual elements included in the film.
I grant permission for the Yorkshire Horror Film Festival to use stills, trailers, titles, descriptions, and related materials from my film for promotional purposes.
I give permission for the Yorkshire Horror Film Festival to screen the film live and/or online as part of the festival for which it was submitted.
If selected, I will provide the festival with a digital, vertically formatted movie poster for use on the official festival website.
