Official Rules & Terms of Entry
Presented by: YORA International Film Awards
Submission Period: January 1st – July 30, 2026
Screenings & Awards: September - October 2026 (Exact dates TBA)

1. Eligibility
Open to filmmakers, producers, and studios from all countries.

Eligible formats: Feature films (60+ mins), Short films (under 20 mins), Documentaries, Animation.

Completion date: Films must have been completed after January 1, 2024.

Language: Non-English films must have English subtitles.

2. Submission Guidelines
Entry Fee:

Early Bird (January 1 – March 31, 2026): $10

Regular (April 1 – May 31, 2026): $15

Late Deadline (June 1 - 30, 2026) – : $30

Extended Deadline (July 1 - July 21, 2026): $ 50

How to Submit:

Via FilmFreeway (preferred) or official YORA Film Awards submission portal.

Secure online screener (Vimeo/YouTube private link) or high-quality downloadable file.

Required materials: Film poster, trailer (if available), synopsis (max 200 words), director’s bio.

3. Categories & Awards

Films will compete in the following categories:

Best African Film

Best Short Film

Best Documentary (Social Impact)

Audience Choice Award (voted during screenings)

Best Emerging Filmmaker Award (for debut directors)

Additional special recognition awards may be announced.

4. Selection & Screening Process
A pre-selection committee will review all submissions.

Official selections will be notified by August 15, 2026, and screened during YORA International Film Awards

Selected filmmakers may be invited for Q&A sessions, panels, or networking events.

5. Rights & Permissions
Filmmakers retain full rights to their work.

By submitting, entrants grant YORA the right to:

Screen the film at the festival (in-person/virtual, if applicable).

Use clips (max 2 mins) and promotional materials for marketing.

Films previously submitted to other festivals are eligible.
