The Women’s Filmmakers Festival is a celebration of all women in a directorial or producing role within the film industry. We also celebrate and recognize women writers who we could not make films without.

This is our 4th season and we are coming back to you with an AMAZING EVENT filled with speakers, workshops, seminars, and more!. You do not have to attend the event in order to win, but it is encouraged. Those who attend will have the opportunity to be interviewed to share their journey in film and share the projects they have submitted, and those coming.

All films submitted must be directed and/or produced by women.
For screenplays, a woman must have written at least 80% of the script.
Only women may submit to this festival, UNLESS the film is a female driven story with at least 80% of the cast and crew are women.

FILMS WITH A MALE DIRECTOR MUST HAVE A FEMALE PRODUCER AND WRITER, PLUS CAST AND CREW MUST BE AT LEAST 80% FEMALE.

MEN CANNOT ENTER IN SPECIALIZED CATEGORIES AS DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, EDITOR, etc.

WE DO NOT PROVIDE WAIVERS TO ANYONE FOR ANY REASON. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL OR MESSAGE US ASKING FOR A DISCOUNT OR WAIVER CODE.

Rules & Terms

All films must have been directed and/or produced by a biological female who identifies as female.

All films & scripts submitted should have been in production and/or completed between 2024-2026.

    We were honored our short film "Wrestling" won best Faith Based Film. This is a new festival and they aren't running an in person event, but they were quick to communicate with us once we were selected and kept us informed. An online awards announcement was a nice way to share our win on social media.

    I want to say that our film is based on empowering women and keeping them strong, aware and powerful. Based on a police women’s life about being down psychopathic killer we won Best Series. Loved being appear of this and show casing the powerful women in the series.

    We are thrilled that Vanished was nominated in many categories and won in categories. I am personally very excited that my script "Till My Last Breath" won Best Feature Screenplay. This is a personal story that I hope to one day share with the world. A big thank you!!!!!
    Also, this year! We are thrilled that our little Christmas short and our dark faith based film were a part of this festival. L.A. and her team are the best!
