Wesley Rickert is a director & producer of no-budget arthouse features, absurdist performance poet, noise musician, DIY audio producer & visual artist. His arthouse film projects combine his obsession for working with the aesthetics of abstract fictional characters and his zeal for exploring diverse elements of experimental cinema.
"The Road To Elsinore", 2016, Canada, (98 minutes), was official selection for 2016 BLOW-UP, Chicago International Arthouse FILMFEST, official selection for 2017 Annual Copenhagen Film Festival and SEMI-FINALIST for the 2017 European Film Festival (Mainstream & underground). "Reality River Snow Job", 2017, Canada, (99 minutes), received honourable mention from the 2017 LA Underground Film Forum for unique contribution to cinema. "Wax Wings", 2019, Canada, (72 minutes), received honourable mention from the 2019 LA Underground Film Forum for unique contribution to cinema.
His absurdist writing & photographs have been published in "Maintenant -A Journal of Contemporary Dada", Three Rooms Press, NYC. USA, #9, (2015), #10, (2016), #11, (2017), #12, (2018), #13, (2019), #14, (2020). He has traveled & performed with the legendary Canadian sound poet bill bissett, and is one half of the Canadian electronic art noise band Burning Iceberg, co-founder of the 1000 Islands Film & Stage Studio & co-founder of 253469 Productions.
