The Weird World International Film Festival is a celebration of Fortean film, documentary, and television.
Founded by Dragonfly Films — the production company behind the hit TV series Weird Britain and multiple acclaimed cryptozoology documentaries — Weird World shines a spotlight on the strange, the unexplained, and the extraordinary.
Set in the ancient and magical town of Glastonbury, legendary resting place of King Arthur and the Holy Grail (and the spiritual heart of Avalon), the festival takes place beneath the iconic Glastonbury Tor. This powerful, myth-soaked location provides the perfect backdrop for films that explore high strangeness, the paranormal, folk horror, cryptozoology, conspiracy, altered states, and anything that challenges consensus reality.
We welcome bold, visionary works across all genres and lengths — from mind-bending documentaries and found-footage horrors to psychedelic adventures, experimental oddities, and atmospheric dramas. If your film lives at the intersection of the mysterious and the cinematic, this is your festival.
The festival operates a prestigious multi-level award system:
Platinum • Gold • Silver • Bronze
Selected top films will screen at the live event in Glastonbury. At the closing ceremony, the judging panel will award overall winners in each category.
