At the Weindorfer Short Film Festival, we are committed to showcasing films that celebrate and explore Australia’s natural wilderness or environment and that reflect the living legacy of Kate and Gustav Weindorfer (Cradle Mountain and Tasmania). We welcome stories that highlight Australia’s unique natural and cultural environment, honour individuals or projects that protect and nurture the Australian landscape or use the Natural Environment in positive ways, or demonstrate how the actions of one or two people can create meaningful and positive change in the world.

We welcome films of any genre, as long as they adhere to the approximately between 2 and 12 minutes duration

Whether you’re an established professional or an emerging filmmaker waiting to be discovered, the Weindorfer Short Film Festival provides a platform for self-expression through a film. Entries are accepted in the Open, or Under 19 categories.

This is your opportunity to craft a story that inspires, entertains, and captivates audiences – a reminder that even the smallest film can leave a significant impact!

Winners will receive a cash prize, trophy and the chance to have their film featured at the Weindorfer Film Festival Gala
