-About The Festival-

The We The Peoples Film Festival screens films related to international development, human security, human rights, the environment and related global issues.

The We the Peoples Film Festival is in its 18th season and has screened more than 400 films and initiated the UK's first peace-themed film season, video-streaming workshops for Non-Governmental Organisations, and the world’s first festival of films on international development by young directors.

Festival Aims
Encourage filmmakers/creatives to work together to raise awareness of the Three Pillars of Freedom through screening of films created around these themes.

* Freedom from fear: Through efforts to bring about collective security and peace.
* Freedom to live in dignity: Through the application of justice for all, from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We The People’s Film Festival initiated the UK’s first peace themed season, video streaming workshops for NGOs. It's screenings take place in cinemas in universities, cafes, clubs and other venues as well as commercial cinemas in London.

  • I'm immensely proud that my film, The Truth: Lost at Sea, won the Best Film award in the Human Security category at the 2018 edition of the festival. Also, the communications with the festival organizers were top-notch, and they kept in touch with me even after the festival for remaining questions I had. They also dedicated the time at my screening for one of the characters in my film to address the audience in a Q&A session, since I could not attend myself. Bold festival with a strong line-up. I'll definitely submit future projects to them again.

I was not able to attend, but the communication was good, and I was very happy to know that my film will be screened in this festival. It showcases and promotes film which matters and subject related to human rights. Will definitely apply with future projects.
