The Wasteland Picture Show
Official Rules & Submission Guidelines
Welcome to the Wasteland Picture Show — a celebration of bold and independent cinema. By submitting a film to the festival, filmmakers agree to the following rules and conditions.
1. Eligibility
Films must be completed after the designated eligibility date set by the festival. All submissions must be original works created by the submitting filmmaker(s).
2. Rights & Ownership
All entrants must own or have secured all necessary rights to their film, including (but not limited to) music, sound design, footage, and any third-party intellectual property.
3. Subtitles
All non-English language films must include clear and accurate English subtitles to be considered for selection.
4. Runtime
Submissions must fall within a 40 Minute run time
5. Submission Format
All films must be submitted in an accepted digital format. Incomplete, inaccessible, or corrupted files may not be reviewed.
6. Selection Process
All submissions are reviewed by the Wasteland Picture Show programming team. Submission does not guarantee selection or public screening.
7. Screening Rights
Selected filmmakers grant the Wasteland Picture Show non-exclusive rights to screen their film during the official festival dates. The festival may also use excerpts, trailers, stills, and promotional materials for marketing and promotional purposes.
8. Fees & Refunds
All submission fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including non-selection, withdrawal, or disqualification.
9. Deadlines
All submissions must be completed before the official deadline. Late entries may be rejected at the discretion of the festival programming team.
10. Conduct, Content & Compliance
The festival reserves the right to reject any submission that includes illegal content, copyright infringement, or material that violates venue policies or applicable laws. The Wasteland Film Festival is committed to maintaining a respectful and professional environment for filmmakers, audiences, and staff.
