While battling the ailing independent film appreciation among the wider public, and supporting to celebrate the work of women filmmakers, was born Pakistan’s home-grown Women International Film Festival (WIFF), hosted by Women Through Film.

WIFF’2026 is going to be held in February 2026, showing some of the most resonant and thought-provoking feature and short films received by female independent filmmakers from around the world.

This festival performs exceptionally important work with great dedication. I thank them for the excellent collaboration regarding the documentary film GIRLS DON'T CRY by Sigrid Klausmann, which the festival screened for an audience in Pakistan. I am also particularly grateful for the respectful feedback on the film following the festival screenings. I wish the festival continued strength, courage, and support from partners both at home and worldwide – Renate Zylla, the festival agent from Germany

The 10th edition of the Women International Film Festival was beautifully organised by an inspiring team of creative women. From the thoughtful programming and strong lineup of films to the warm hospitality and seamless coordination, the festival created a genuinely supportive and professional environment for filmmakers.

The press coverage, panel discussions, and overall ambiance reflected real care and intention. It was wonderful to see such engaged audiences and meaningful conversations around the films.

Thank you for screening Dear Abu and for the unexpected honour of the Curator’s Choice Award. It was a true surprise and made my journey from Australia even more worthwhile.

Grateful to have been part of this special edition and looking forward to seeing WIFF continue to grow.

  • It was a great honor for our film ‘Bird Woman’ to be selected for the Women International film festival (WIFF)! It was also our first time at a women's film festival, so we were very excited.
