Bienvenido a ¡Viva Cinema!

Un Intercambio Internacional de Cine, Musica, Arte y Cultura Latina.

¡ Viva Cinema! se une a la comunidad y las empresas de New Haven CT del 12 al 14 de abril de 2018, para construir puentes culturales y dar a conocer el cine Latinoamericano y el arte de la narración audiovisual en idioma español y portugués.
El cuarto anual ¡Viva Cinema! Latino Film Festival es un intercambio internacional de cine, música, arte, cultura y comida en Gateway Community College. El festival exhibirá más de 100 películas junto a una competencia PSA de cortometrajes estudiantiles. Las proyecciones y eventos tendrán lugar en el teatro, durante tres días de cine y un cuarto día de música, cine y danza, a un lleno total y ritmo inagotable. Los cineastas competirán por premios en varias categorías, incluyendo Mejor Largometraje de Ficción, Mejor Documental y Mejor Cortometraje.

Welcome to ¡Viva Cinema!

An International Exchange of Latino Film, Music, Arts and Culture

¡Viva Cinema! joins with the community and businesses of New Haven CT April 12, 13 & 14, 2018 to build cultural bridges and raise awareness of Latin American cinema and the art of visual story telling in the languages of Spanish and Portuguese.
The forth Annual ¡Viva Cinema! Latino Film Festival is an international exchange of film, music, arts, culture and food at Gateway Community College. The annual festival will showcase more than 100 films with a student short film PSA competition. Screenings and events will take place throughout the theater in this jam-packed fast paced three days of film, Latino cultural and educational event. Filmmakers will compete for awards in several categories including Best Narrative Feature, Best Documentary and Best Short Film.

Latino Film Festival are committed to presenting Peekskill NY as a premier destination for Latin American cultural and arts events, improving the quality of life for the residents of Peekskill, while providing a positive economic benefit to the city’s business community and the surrounding region.

Bienvenido a ¡Viva Cinema! Un intercambio internacional de cine, música, arte y cultura latinos. Después de 13 años exitosos y más de 1000 días y noches de proyecciones, The Connecticut Film Festival LLC y Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival inician el 4to evento anual con una explosión este 12-14 de abril de 2018 en New Haven CT.

El festival y el intercambio exhibirán más de 100 películas, así como presentaciones y simposios. Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival se esfuerza por usar el cine, video y nuevos medios independentes como un vehículo para desafiar y estimular a las audiencias, inspirándolas a apoyar el cine latinoamericano con sus mentes, sus corazones y sus billeteras.

A través de historias visuales provocativas, ¡inspirar a las audiencias a tomar acciones! ¡Esperamos que su postulación sea una de las que alimente este fuego y provea a nuestros espectadores con un fuerte punto de vista independiente!

Por más de 13 años, The Connecticut Film Festival y ¡Viva Cinema!, han sido anfitriones de filmes latinoamericanos a través de la región Tri-Estatal de NY, resaltados por algunas de la mas cautivates y motivadoras creaciones de las más pequeñas hasta las más importantes productoras y distribudoras en Latino America.

REQUISITOS DE ELIGIBILIDAD

Para ser elegibles en consideración, todos los filmes deben reunir los siguientes requisitos:

-Todas las postulaciones deben ser enviadas online antes del plazo final.
-Formatos de envío:

Los screeners de largometrajes deben ser subidos a una cuenta de Vimeo privada protegida con password, quepuede ser incluída en el perfil de envío de FilmFreeway

De forma alternative los screeners de largometraje pueden ser enviados en 2 DVDs con etiquetas indicando el número de seguimiento de FilmFreeway (FF# _ _ _ _), el título, nombre del director, duración, número telefónico, correo electrónico y una dirección web si es necesario. El festival puede considerer exhibiciones online para ciertos largometrajes.

Los screeners de cortometrajes deben estar disponibles para visualización online y deben ser subidos a una cuenta de Vimeo protegida con password. El enlace de vimeo puede ser incluído en el perfil de envío de FilmFreeway.

- Toda película no debe haber tenido exhibición commercial en Connecticut.

- Solo serán aceptadas películas terminadas.

- Solo postulaciones completes seran aceptadas. Los perfiles online deben estar completes con presskit y fotos incluídas.

- Todas las películas deben estar disponibles para exhibición de manera inmediata.

- A pesar de que el festival entrega complete preocupación a cada postulación, el festival no se hace responsible por pérdida o daño de los materiales enviados.

- Por favor enviar DVDs solo en sobres con empaque de burbuja o de espuma. No usar rellenos de fibra, pueden dañar su película y nuestro equipamiento.

The 2018 Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival will present a broad spectrum of independent features, documentaries, international, short, and student films. Selected films will be in competition for Jury Awards and overall Audience Favorite.

Viva Cinema are partners with the year-round, Connecticut Film Festival, hosting multiple weekend festivals, weekly and monthly series and isolated screenings and world premieres in the NYC Metropolitan area and in numerous cities and towns throughout the state of Connecticut.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Welcome to ¡Viva Cinema! An International Exchange Latino Film, Music, Arts and Culture. After 13 successful years and more than 1000 days and nights of screenings, The Connecticut Film Festival LLC and Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival kick off the 4th annual event with a bang this April 12-14, 2018 in New Haven CT. The festival and exchange will showcase more than 100 films as well as performances and symposiums.
Screenings will take place in several venues with occupancies ranging from 70 – 1000 seats. The 3-days and nights of film will be highlighted by 3 major parties! Awards will be presented in all categories at the Saturday evening party.

FILM SUBMISSION GUIDELINES & APPLICATION
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for consideration, all films must meet the following requirements:

-All entries must be submitted online no later than the deadline dates.
-Submission Media Format:

Feature film screeners must be uploaded to a private Vimeo account and password protected. The Vimeo code may then be embedded into the FilmFreeway submission profile.

Alternatively, feature film screeners can be submitted on 2 DVDs with labels indicating the FilmFreeway tracking number (FF# _ _ _ _ ), the title, director's name, running time, a phone number, email address and applicable website URL. The festival will consider online screenings for feature length films.

Short Film screeners must be made available online and should be uploaded to a Vimeo account and password protected. The Vimeo code may then be embedded in the FilmFreeway submission profile.

-All films must not have been commercially screened in Connecticut.

-All films must be in Spanish or Portuguese and must have English subtitles.
Or
-All films may be in English if made by a predominantly Hispanic crew, group of producers and or writers and must have Spanish or Portuguese subtitles.

-Only completed projects will be accepted.

-Filmmaker must have obtained all clearances for exhibition and must certify that the work is original and no disputes regarding ownership exist on the film.

-Only completed entry packages will be accepted. Online profiles must be complete with EPK and uploaded photos.

-All films must be available to screen immediately.

-Although complete care is given to every entry, the festival cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to materials submitted.

-Please do not send DVD entries in fiber -filled mailers. Use only bubble wrap or foam type envelopes.

- DVD Screeners will not be returned.

Marketing of your film and the festival:

To facilitate the promotion of selected films, the producers of Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival request that submissions include an electronic press kit via Dropbox or other FTP site or through FilmFreeway’s website. The EPK should not come on a disc.

The EPK should include the follow:
5 JPEG formatted images. 300 Dpi and no greater than 500kb each
1 Poster image. Lo Res. JPEG formatted and no greater than 500kb
1 Poster image. Hi Res PDF or Vector file. No greater than 2 Gb
1 WORD document with 3 synopses: a short 50-100 words, medium 100 – 250 words and a long 250 – 500 words.
1 WORD document with 1-2 Press Releases. One short press release describing the film, a second more in depth press release.
1 WORD document listing all URL and social media links

Theatrical Screening Formats
All accepted films must be made available in the following formats:

Feature Length Films
BluRay and 2 Standard Definition DVD discs as backup. Possible option to be discussed is Digital format file: QT H264.MOV files

Feature Length Films: DCP (Digital Cinema Package) Trailer when available.

Short Films, Commercial/Advertisements and PSA
Screening Format: QT H264.MOV file with 2 Standard Definition DVD discs as backup. Additional backup option: BluRay copy.

ALL –DVDs must be in NTSC format -- Please label all submitted materials with title, name of entrant, category and running time, and tracking ID number. Other formats may be possible. The festival needs to be notified before any other regional formats are mailed.

The management of Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival reserves the right to decide all questions regarding the rules and regulations. Submission of a film constitutes that the filmmaker accepts the rules and regulations set forth herein.

All film entries selected for the festival give a Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival the right to use footage and/or titles from and information about the film for promotional purposes. Incomplete submissions will not be considered for the Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival

-Submission fee. Payments are made through an online submission portal. Checks may be made payable to The Connecticut Film Festival LLC.

I, the undersigned, have read and understand the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival and Connecticut Film Festival LLC. To the best of my knowledge, all the information is correct as indicated on the submitted entry.

The Connecticut Film Festival LLC and Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.

The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

I, the undersigned, have read and understand the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Viva Cinema Latino Film Festival and The Connecticut Film Festival LLC.
