We are a vibrant international youth short film festival dedicated to promoting the next generation of filmmakers from Peru and around the globe. In 2025 we received over 3,000 submissions from 157 countries. Our jury consists of established international filmmakers and actors, and the red-carpet event in November was inaugurated by the artistic director of Festival de Cine de Lima, Josué Mendez. As the only educationally focused film festival in the region, we created it to fill a vital gap in South America's creative landscape but with global outreach. The festival celebrates emerging talent, offering young storytellers the opportunity to share their vision, compete for recognition, and connect with both peers and seasoned professionals. With categories ranging from super-short films to longer form narratives, Visiones Nuevas is more than a showcase—it's a launchpad for fresh voices, innovative approaches and the cinematic futures of tomorrow. The festival will include workshops and talks from industry practitioners.

Visiones Nuevas offers a diverse range of award categories to recognise outstanding contributions in the field of filmmaking. All short-listed films will receive laurels.

We are very happy to be awarded with the Jury award for Best Screenplay in our category! At the beginning, there were a few communication issues, which is understandable for a first-year festival finding its rhythm. However, the team handled everything professionally, and the experience improved significantly as the event progressed. Overall, it was encouraging to be part of a growing festival with strong potential, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops in the future!
