He has written and directed 16 stage plays, which include sold out productions at The Historic Lincoln Theater in Washington DC and the first ever stage play at the Theater at MGM National Harbor (3000 seats) in which he won Director and Production of the Year in 2019. During this time, Vernon also spent four years directing the largest Christmas and Easter Productions on the East Coast featuring a cast of 250 including world-renowned Gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Tamela Mann, Marvin Sapp, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams and the Queen of Gospel, Pastor Shirley Caesar just to name a few! Over the course of its runtime, these productions provided the platform for thousands of individuals to live out their purpose and destiny and reached over 200,000 patrons with sold out shows yearly.
Vernon is a loving and devoted husband to his beautiful wife Felicia and father of their 6 children. Driven by a credo, “Don’t wait, CREATE!” Vernon’s faith, grit, and passion for the Arts fuel the creativity that puts his genius in demand. As Founder of V3 Productions, his mission is to create relevant content that embody timeless style and character. Whether he is in front of his laptop, coaching actors or in the Director’s seat, Vernon is undoubtedly in his element. And it is this element of purpose and destiny that will captivate, encourage and entertain viewers everywhere.
Hailing from Washington, D.C., after high school, Vernon served in the United States Navy, and after a notable career, his childhood fascination with the performing arts was re-birthed. He aggressively enhanced his craft, and discovered his unparalleled knack for acting, stage management, writing and directing.
Vernon’s diligence paid off and in 2015, he was selected to be a mentee of multi- NAACP Award Winner, Playwright, and Filmmaker, Mr. David E. Talbert. This opportunity required an unexpected trip to Los Angeles, CA and a monumental leap of faith that has had a lasting impact on him. In 2017, Vernon was also invited to Atlanta to meet with and also become mentored by the late great Godfather of Urban Theatre, Mr. Shelly Garrett. Mr. Garrett often poured knowledge into Vernon on a regular basis about the business that has been a valuable asset to the V3 Productions brand.
This is just the beginning for Vernon as he firmly believes, “If you are afraid to start, you are already finished.” A new chapter. No more limits. LET’S GET STARTED!
