Verity Drew Firth is an award‑winning young director, filmmaker, and actress whose work has already gained significant recognition across the international festival circuit. She began performing at the age of four and discovered her passion for filmmaking at eleven, quickly establishing herself as a distinctive creative voice.
Verity is the youngest ever award‑winning filmmaker and actress at the Raindance Film Festival, where her animated short was selected as a finalist and premiered. She currently serves as the Youth Ambassador for the London Breeze Film Festival, curating the Youth section and judging festival submissions. She is also BIFA and BAFTA qualified.
Her debut independent short film won multiple awards, and her work has since been selected for over 21 film festivals worldwide. Verity has received nominations and awards across all her short films, including recognition from the BRIT’s FMP Film and Media Showcase (sponsored by Netflix), London 4X Short Film Festival, Camera Zizanio, Lift‑Off Global Network Film Festival, and the London Breeze Film Festival. She was the only no‑budget filmmaker shortlisted at the Crystal Palace Film Festival and has also served on the judging panel for the Reel Youth Film Festival.
As an actor, Verity has an extensive range of Theatre, TV, Radio, and Film credits. Her roles include Lucy in Man Down (Channel 4), Juliet in The Cazalet Chronicles (BBC Radio; Radio Times “Pick of the Week”), The Child in 1984 (Robert Icke/Duncan Macmillan, Playhouse Theatre), and Lady Felicity in the award‑winning film Daddy’s Note, for which she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination (Jump Cuts Film Festival). Most recently, she earned multiple 4‑ and 5‑star reviews for her direction of the new play Static Lives at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Verity is a BRIT School alumna, where she studied Film & Media alongside Drama and Dance. She also trained at The Sylvia Young Theatre School and The Young Actors Theatre, and she is a proud member of the National Youth Theatre.
Alongside her work as an actor, model, director, and producer, Verity is a scriptwriter and poet currently developing her first collection of original poetry. Her ambition is to continue creating meaningful work across the arts and entertainment industry—both in front of and behind the camera—and to make a lasting contribution through her storytelling.
