The 2nd edition of Unspoken Mental Health Film Festival continues Tongues on Fire’s commitment to using cinema as a catalyst for difficult, necessary and compassionate conversations around mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Produced by Tongues on Fire CIO — the charity behind the UK Asian Film Festival — Unspoken brings together films, artists, mental health advocates and audiences to explore the emotional realities often left unspoken across cultures and communities.

Through screenings, Q&As and public dialogue, the festival explores themes including trauma, grief, masculinity, care, anxiety, identity, displacement, neurodiversity, memory, loneliness and healing.

We are particularly interested in films that create empathy, challenge stigma and open meaningful conversations around emotional wellbeing — especially within communities where these subjects remain difficult to discuss openly.

We welcome bold, compassionate and artistically ambitious work from filmmakers around the world, including:

* narrative features
* documentaries
* short films
* animation
* experimental and hybrid works

Unspoken is a space for cinema that moves beyond awareness and towards connection, reflection and conversation.

Selected films will be eligible for consideration at the Unspoken Mental Health Film Festival Awards.
