In un’epoca in cui il videoclip è spesso ridotto a strumento promozionale, inglobato da algoritmi e metriche, Unframed ne rivendica l’anima profonda e radicale: quella di un linguaggio autonomo, liquido, indisciplinato.
Un cinema breve che pulsa al ritmo del suono, che contamina, sovverte, reimmagina.
Unframed non nasce per intrattenere, ma per interrogare.
È un gesto curatoriale, un atto di resistenza e di amore verso una forma che vive ai margini e che proprio lì trova la sua potenza.
Non cerca di adattare le opere al formato: scardina il formato per lasciare emergere lo sguardo.
Se il tuo lavoro non si piega al formato, se rompe le strutture invece di assecondarle, se ciò che crei è un cortocircuito di linguaggi, un’interferenza nel flusso, un’idea che pulsa fuori campo , allora Unframed è il tuo spazio.
Uno spazio senza confini, senza etichette, senza paura.
La seconda edizione si terrà nel dicembre 2026, tra le mura del Castello Normanno Svevo di Sannicandro di Bari, e si articolerà in tre giorni di esperienze immersive: proiezioni, performance, incontri, premi, e soprattutto visioni che non temono l’eccesso né l’abisso.
Al centro di questo orizzonte visivo e curatoriale si colloca The Gaze, il cuore simbolico del festival.
Non si tratta di una retrospettiva, ma di un incontro vivo e generativo con uno dei grandi registi che hanno rivoluzionato il linguaggio del videoclip, trasformandolo in opera cinematografica autonoma, libera, visionaria.
Ogni anno, Unframed inviterà una figura di riferimento della scena internazionale per un momento di trasmissione, scambio, riflessione. Un dialogo aperto tra chi ha riscritto le regole e chi oggi cerca nuove traiettorie.
The Gaze è rito, è tensione creativa, è spazio in cui lo sguardo si fa metodo e memoria.
Perché alcune immagini non si consumano.

At a time when music videos are often reduced to promotional tools, absorbed by algorithms and metrics, Unframed reclaims their deep and radical soul: a language that is autonomous, fluid, unruly.
A short-form cinema that pulses with sound, that contaminates, subverts, reimagines.
Unframed doesn’t exist to entertain, but to interrogate.
It is a curatorial gesture, an act of resistance and love for a form that lives on the margins — and draws its power from that very place.
It doesn’t adapt works to fit a format: it breaks the format open to let the gaze emerge.
If your work doesn’t bend to form, if it breaks structures instead of serving them, if what you create is a short-circuit of languages, a glitch in the stream, an idea pulsing just outside the frame — then Unframed is your space.
A space with no borders, no labels, no fear.
The second edition will take place in December 2026, within the walls of the Norman-Swabian Castle in Sannicandro di Bari, and will unfold across three days of immersive experiences: screenings, performances, talks, awards — and, above all, visions that don’t fear excess or the abyss.
At the center of this visual and curatorial horizon lies The Gaze, the symbolic core of the festival.
It’s not a retrospective, but a living, generative encounter with one of the great directors who revolutionized the music video, transforming it into a free, cinematic, autonomous form.
Each year, Unframed will invite a key figure from the international scene for a moment of transmission, exchange, and reflection — an open dialogue between those who rewrote the rules and those now seeking new trajectories.
The Gaze is ritual, creative tension, and a space where the gaze becomes both method and memory.
Because some images don’t fade.
They don’t get scrolled away.
They stay.
And they look back.
Still.

Each evening of screenings and awards will be accompanied by DJ sets, live concerts and performances, creating an immersive experience for artists, professionals and lovers of music and cinema.
Unframed apre le porte a videoclip provenienti da ogni tempo, riconoscendo valore tanto alle opere recenti quanto a quelle che riemergono dal passato.
I videoclip realizzati dal 2024 fino alla data di chiusura della call concorreranno alle sezioni competitive ufficiali, con premi per regia, fotografia, montaggio, concept creativo, animazione e sperimentazione. Un’attenzione speciale sarà dedicata anche alla scena pugliese, con riconoscimenti ai migliori videoclip e registi del territorio.
Ogni vincitore riceverà l’accesso gratuito all’edizione 2027.
Unframed guarda anche altrove.
Accoglie videoclip senza una data certa o realizzati prima del 2024, opere che ancora oggi conservano uno sguardo vivo, inattuale, necessario.
Possono essere inediti, dimenticati, underground, ritrovati, fuori catalogo, autoriali, orfani del loro tempo.
Lontani dalle logiche di consumo, ma ancora capaci di accendere lo sguardo.

Unframed welcomes music videos from any era, recognizing the value of both recent works and those that resurface from the past.
Music videos created from 2024 up to the closing date of the call will compete in the official categories, with awards for direction, cinematography, editing, concept, animation, and experimentation.
A special focus will also be dedicated to the Apulian scene, with awards for the best local music videos and directors.
Each winner will receive a free entry to the 2027 edition.
But Unframed looks elsewhere, too.
It opens its arms to videos with no clear date or made before 2024 — works that still carry a vital, untimely, necessary gaze.
They may be unpublished, forgotten, underground, rediscovered, out of print, or radically authorial.
Detached from consumption logic, yet still capable of igniting the gaze.
To them is dedicated the Evergaze Award – Enduring Vision.
