USEK’s AJYAL Program, in collaboration with USEK’s Department of Communication Arts at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, is thrilled to announce the USEK Lebanese Heritage Short Film Competition! This is your chance to celebrate Lebanon’s vibrant culture, traditions, and heritage while showcasing your creativity and talent to a wider audience.
If you’re a current student or an eligible graduate from a university in Lebanon with a passion for storytelling and filmmaking, we invite you to be part of this meaningful initiative.

Exciting Prizes Await:
1st prize: $3,000
2nd prize: $2,000
3rd prize: $1,000

Eligibility: Lebanese student-made films created within the past two years.
1. Duration: 1-20 minutes.
2. Theme: Images, Sounds, Memories
Capturing the essence of Lebanese heritage, culture, and traditions.
3. Submission Format: Submit exhibition copies as QuickTime 1080p HD 8-bit uncompressed, Apple ProRes, or equivalent.
4. Subtitles: Non-English films require English subtitles; French subtitles are encouraged.
5. Censorship: Films must respect cultural sensitivities and avoid explicit or offensive material (e.g., hate speech, pornography, child abuse, animal cruelty).
6. Rights: Filmmakers must possess full ownership and legal rights to all content used in the film, including music.
7. Final Versions Only: Works in progress will not be accepted.
8. Promotion: Selected films and materials may be used for trailers, social media, or other promotional purposes.
9. Selection: Submission does not guarantee selection.
