Please note that only films produced in Switzerland or by Swiss directors will be considered.
It is the second oldest youth film festival in Switzerland, which supports young filmmakers up to the age of 30 and shows their short films on the big screen every year. Since 1985, the festival has offered a platform for the direct mutual exchange of ideas, experiences and views - so it has also served as a network of contacts and a springboard for numerous successful Swiss filmmakers. Firmly anchored in central Switzerland and with an impact far beyond Mount Pilatus, it makes a significant contribution to the sustainable promotion of young Swiss filmmakers.

Es ist das zweitälteste Jungfilmfestival der Schweiz, das junge Filmschaffende bis 30 fördert und jährlich deren Kurzfilme auf Grossleinwand zeigt. Seit 1985 bietet das Festival eine Plattform für den direkten gegenseitigen Austausch von Ideen, Erfahrungen und Anschauungen - so diente es auch als Kontakteknüpfer und Sprungbrett für zahlreiche, erfolgreiche Schweizer Filmemacher*innen. Fest verankert in der Innerschweiz und mit Ausstrahlung weit über den Pilatus hinweg, trägt es massgeblich zur nachhaltigen Förderung des Schweizer Filmnachwuchs bei.
The LUZERNER FILMPREIS, the UPCOMING FILMMAKERS AUDIENCE PRIZE and various SPECIAL PRIZES are awarded with prize money totaling over 10,000 francs.
Participants who have not yet reached the age of 20 when their film is completed are also nominated for the LUZERNER NACHWUCHSFILMPREIS.

Vergeben werden der LUZERNER FILMPREIS, der UPCOMING FILMMAKERS PUBLIKUMSPREIS und diverse SPEZIALPREISE dotiert mit Preisgeldern in Höhe von insgesamt über 10'000.- Franken.
Teilnehmende, welche zum Zeitpunkt der Fertigstellung ihres Filmes das 20. Altersjahr noch nicht überschritten haben, sind zudem für den LUZERNER NACHWUCHSFILMPREIS nominiert.
