A Graduate of Michigan State University, and a native of Detroit, Michigan, by way of Chicago, Illinois, his Film & Television credits are numerous. They include "Inception", "Red Eye", "Coach Carter", "The Mannsfield 12", "House MD", "24" and most recently "Vampire Wars", The Choir Director, "Nineteen Summers, #Truth, DOE & "DeadCon...the Lifetime Movie Channels, "The Wrong Boyfriend", "The Man In 3B", "Greys Anatomy", Amazon's "The Last Tycoon" a starring turn in the acclaimed short film, "History Day" and NOW is RECURRING on the hit, BET+ series, the fiery "THE FAMILY BUSINESS". On the theater front, Carl directed, "Power Couple Struggle" & Peace Be Still" in Los Angeles. He also Produced & Directed the NAACP nominated play "Section 8" and Produced the NAACP Theater Award winner, "Steel Magnolias" , Produced through the FCBC Repertory Company, which Carl founded in 2006. Carl also Co-Produced and helped develop "The Things That Make Men Cry" here in Los Angeles. Carl has appeared on stage in "Ninth Wave", "SOUTH OF WHERE WE LIVE", "THE RIVER NIGER" "WAITING FOR THE RAIN", "The Living Quarters" & "Sweet Lucy's Love Loung", to name just a few among dozens of plays.
Carl Gilliard was formally the Artistic Director (and Founder) of the FCBC Repertory Company, the drama ministry at Faithful Central Bible Church and is Co-Creator of the Bill Duke Media Foundation's Youth Media Camp. He’s currently CREATOR, WRITER, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER and STAR of the HIT DIGITAL SERIES, “TWO DEGREES”.
