I started to make movies as video artist activities when I was a student of Musashino Art University, and I got the Special Jury Prize with "Lost in the Garden" in the Tokyo International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival in 1995. I am bisexual and have been exploring the connection between LGBTQ+ and society through filmmaking. "Old Narcissus (2017)”, the short independent film which shows a life of an old gay, was screened in more than 8 countries and got 10 awards in film festivals. In "The Fish with One Sleeve"(2021), my latest short movie screening now in Japan, transgender themselves act main casts. For this film, I carried out the open audition for transgender which is the first time in Japan.
