Tshepiso Phetlhu is an independent South African filmmaker, content producer, and writer based in Mahikeng, actively shaping the cultural and cinematic landscape of Mahikeng, North West province. With a strong foundation in arts and culture administration and extensive training in screenwriting and audio-visual content production, he brings a multifaceted skill set to every project.
His short film MALETSATSI gained international acclaim, winning three awards at INDEPENDENT CINEMA FILM FESTIVAL "Art Club Pavlos Paraschakis", Greece. (2022) —including Best Production of the Year—and was officially selected at several global festivals such as: FESTIVAL ANGAELICA-Columbia (2023), BLACK CAT AWARD INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL-Bolivia (2022), 5TH INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FILM FESTIVAL-India (2022) and CAMARA CORPORIZADA-Argentina (2021) amongst other international screenings. In addition to directing and producing documentaries and short films such as MONTLENYANE (2025) and THITO YA NGWAO (2022), he also contributes to socially-driven video content, including educational and awareness initiatives.
