My name is Trinette. I was born and raised in Chicago on the south side. I went to Bond Elementary and later Paul Robeson High School. I started writing at the age of thirteen. I wrote poems and I watered my flower garden daily. I did not have a lot of friends but my siblings did. Their friends became my friends also. Being raised in Englewood had its ups and its downs but I survived it all. I am a devoted Christian and mother of four. I divorced after 21 years of marriage knowing life for me had to be better solo. I have been solo over 20 years later. I am a true believer that when God has a destiny outlined just for you no matter how much you love someone it’s Gods final decision. My first acknowledgment of my writing came in my first year of college. I had written a poem and my professor read it aloud in the classroom. I was surprised but after a few snicker I was crushed. I stop attending college. My professor actually called my parents asking them to talk with me about returning. My life took some turns and bruises after that. Life as a young mother without a college education was hard so I returned to college. I took a CNA class and graduated eight months pregnant. I later again returned to college in 2004. I graduated in 2009 earning my bachelor degree. I again returned to college in 2011 only to be dismissed from my graduate program where I was pursuing my MBA in Healthcare Administration. I only had one class left! I was Devastated! But again I rise! I may not had received the certificate on paper but I certainly received the knowledge! I was determined to pursue my dreams. I now pick me first! Life is only what you make it for yourself. I put God over my life on a daily basis and I allow his love his grace and his mercies to lead and to cover me and everyone and everything connected to me.
