The international festival of children's and students' multimedia production TrikFilm, held in Ostrava, is campaigning for a variety of perspectives on storytelling in an artistic style. Our wide range tries to capture creatives from various fields of filmmaking and motion design.
The aim of the festival is to annually present student and children's authorial work in the areas of: animated works, video art, motion design, light design and PC games.
TrikFilm promotes the independent artistic multimedia creations of children and youth in an international context. It make the results of their creative activities publicly available during the festival days. The festival promises fun and offers an interesting and entertaining program for everyone who loves stories, animation, and interactive art. It is a significant inspiration, not only for children and students, but also for their teachers. It supports the development of creative thinking in connection with new trends, not only in the artistic sphere, but also in the educational field.

The festival awards projects of 12 categories. The winner of each category will receive a special ceramic handmade trophy designed by Ostrava´s studio Be Lucky, supplemented by a practical gift.

A - International competition of animated films made by children under 11 years
B - International competition of animated films made by children and youth from 12 to 16 years
C - International competition of animated films made by high school students
D - International competition of animated films made by university students
E - International motion design competition made by children and youth up to 18 years of age
F - International motion design competition made by students from the age of 18
G - International Video Art Competition made by children and youth up to 18 years of age
H - International Video Art Competition made by students from the age of 18
I - International light design competition made by children and youth up to 18 years of age
J - International light design competition made by students from the age of 18
K - International competition for the creation of PC and video games, interactive projects of augmented and virtual reality made by children and youth up to 18 years of age
L - International competition for the creation of PC and video games, interactive projects of augmented and virtual reality made by students from the age of 18

The sixth year of TrikFilm Festival will take place from 24th till 27th September 2025.
A project can be submitted into the competition only by a person over 18 years of age.
The author of the work or its applicant is aware that the work will be presented to the public and agree with the conditions of public presentation set out in Act No. 121/2000 Coll. Copyright.
The author agrees with the publication of the submitted work and basic information about the work being available on the festival website. The festival participant agrees with the publication of photographic and audiovisual recordings related to the course and promotion of the festival.

An audiovizual project or a computer game may be accepted for the competition if it meets the following conditions:
- was completed in the period after 1st January 2024
- more than 50% of its length consists of animation, or a distinct graphic representation of the image or its artistic stylisation
- did not compete in previous years of the TrikFilm festival
- projects entered in the animation section must not exceed 30 minutes in length and in the video art section 40 minutes in length including subtitles

All artworks in the international competition are screened in their original version and must be provided with English subtitles. Games must be accompanied by a translation in the text, or an English version of the game.

The submitted artwork can compete in only one competition category. Multiple artworks by one author can be registered for the festival but each of which must have its own application.

The author of the artwork or the company may not withdraw the film from the festival program after its submission has been officially confirmed, or by written agreement with the organiser of the TrikFilm festival.

The international jury is composed of important representatives of culture, filmmaking, theory, critics, filmmakers, the gaming industry and producers.
Jurors award prizes in all categories and may also award a special jury prize.
The submitted artworks are judged by a selected committee, which is an advisory body of the program board, the composition of which is determined by the organiser, the University of Ostrava. Each participant who registers a piece of artwork will be notified of the result of the decision.

Possibilities of delivery of the artwork:
- by sending, via a link to download from internet repository (we recommend: uschovna.cz, wetransfer.com, google disk), to the e-mail address: Trikfilm@osu.cz, or by inserting a link into the application.
- delivery of a computer game for the selection committee: provision of a promo code for download from digital distribution (Steam, Apple App Store, Google Play,…) no later than 30th June 2025 to e-mail address: trikfilm@osu.cz .

Decision of the selection committee on the artworks selected for the competition will be known to the applicants until 3rd August 2025, at the same time they will be invited to supplement the materials if necessary. The list of selected artworks for the competition will be published on the festival website.
