Toru Kubota (23) has been an internationally active filmmaker since he was an undergraduate in Political Science. He started his career as a film director when he met one of the Rohingya refugees in Japan in 2014, and subsequently made several films about refugees and ethnic issues in Myanmar. His short documentary film "Prayer in Peace" (2018) has been showcased at Tokyo Documentary Film Festival, Japan. He is currently based in London and continues filming to give voices to voiceless.
