THE DANCING CLASS was selected for MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in 1964 and all Australian Festivals. It also won Tom top award at the Commonwealth Film Awards in Edinburgh.. It was awarded the AFI’s Best Film.
Tom Cowan later wrote, co-produced and directed six feature films, the first being THE OFFICE PICNIC, selected for the Moscow and Bombay International Film Festivals. Promised Woman and Sweet Dreamers followed. His JOURNEY AMONG WOMEN was commercially highly successful selling in 26 countries. Tom's last feature 'ORANGE LOVE STORY' was selected for the MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in 2004 and four other film festivals.
