Toby Kearton is a Writer/Director, with a passion for character driven dramas with focus on moral dilemmas. His work explores ethical choices in wartime and crisis situations with much of his short form work taking place in a period setting, examining contemporary themes.
With multiple shorts under his belt, Toby has a vast range of experience and versatility within directing, having written and directed commercials, music videos, a TV pilot for a proposed series and in 2025 his debut feature film ’Sweet Nothings’. Additionally Toby has shadowed and assisted Azhur Saleem on season two of ITV’s After The Flood. The role was an invaluable experience heightening Toby’s knowledge of Directing within high-end TV drama.
Toby graduated from the New York Film Academy with a BFA Hons in Film Production in 2018 and has since gone on to make short films that have screened at leading global film festivals in Cannes, São Paulo, Los Angeles and New York City and in the UK with selections at BAFTA and BIFA qualifying film festivals such as the Sunderland and Flatpack Film Festival.
