Tim Eterno is a cartoonist, illustrator, animator and voice actor that specializes in comic strips and short-form animated films.
Born in Evanston, IL and raised in Palatine - Tim's interest in the illustrated medium began with the discovery of his father's "Peanuts" and "Calvin & Hobbes" paperback collections, alongside the animated works of Chuck Jones and Don Bluth. After a few years of wishful thinking and unproductive margin doodles, Tim created hand-drawn comic strips for his high school's digital newspaper and began posting digital illustrations online.
While attending college at Butler University, Tim penned the comic strip "Chip Scripple" for 3 years in The Butler Collegian, and created numerous digital illustrations and animated passion projects. Tim also contributed original illustrations to Downtown Indy, Inc. and Sandbox Student Productions. "GARAGE SALE," Tim's first formal independent animated short, took shape during his sophomore year at Butler (2021) and was developed throughout 2022-2024. Tim also became a member of the National Cartoonists Society in 2023.
Tim also acquired an early interest in voice acting from classic and contemporary animated cartoons, from talents like Mel Blanc, Daws Butler, Rob Paulsen, and Dee Bradley Baker. In high school, Tim began lending his voice to animated short films made by peers and polishing his vocal talents in high school theater.
Tim continues to voice act in a plethora of animated films produced at Cal-Arts, the School of Visual Arts, and a variety of independent work. Major credits include Cornbread in "COOL TIMES," Broccoli in "Horned Cook, Gola," and Shen in "GARAGE SALE."
Tim has won "Div. II Newspaper Cartoon" 2nd & 3rd place awards from the Indiana Collegiate Press Association (ICPA) in 2023 and 2024.
