Ms Layne is an accomplished actor. A true artist who brings authenticity to her craft. A classically trained ballet dancer, having been trained at Dance Theater Harlem, and The National Ballet of Canada and under scholarship at Philadanco of Philadelphia, USA. Tijuana has been fortunate to have worked with Penelope Ann Miller in The Mary Kay Letourneau Story and several other mainstream productions in both the US and Canada. Ms Layne has garnered international awards building her recognition not only as a powerful commanding actress but as a filmmaker to be noticed for her vision and work with bringing life to the issues of women of color. Ms Layne has concentrated her efforts on indie film making. She has written over 23 screenplays, produced 20 and directing over 10 films 2 of which are features. She is an award winning actress, director and producer. Using the medium of film, she has earned respect for her edgy, provocative, social story telling. These films include The Science of Fear, In the Echo of Evil, The Blue Rose, and The Blue Lady , just to name a few. Ms Layne is presently in preproduction of her latest film The Color of the Heart , a true and honest depiction of racism and identity in present day Canada. What's up next , Tijuana is looking forward to her next feature film, Sad Eyes, which explores the world of human sex trafficking.
