Raised with a love for math and background in engineering. 1st job as a freshman in college was at Emerson's BBQ. The next two college internships were as an apprentice to engineers and architects (Thompson Professional Group and Dabney Engineering). Gave up engineering and graduated with a bachelors degree in mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin.
September 11, 2001 marked a huge change for me as a financial advisor. I watched the buildings crumble and knew that the only way that I wanted to perish was doing something that I was passionate about. At the time I wasn’t sure what that passion was. Although I photographed people as a child on 35mm film, I didn't find the appreciation for writing and filmmaking until years later. My first sitcom idea was completed in August 2004. Originally, I approached Will Griffin (V.P. Simmons Lathan Media Group) to be a Hollywood writer for SLMG while at a screening in Houston’s Angelika Theater. He said, "Writers come a dime a dozen." Outside of the theater, he was the 1st person to encourage me to film my own projects. March 1, 2005 marked my first day filming my documentary called Breakfast Klub the DocKumentary. I've been an independent (guerilla) filmmaker ever since.
A few of my favorite films are Shawshank Redemption, Jacob’s Ladder, Friday, Coming to America, The Men That Killed Kennedy, America Beyond the Color Lines, The Matrix, and The Devil’s Advocate.
