We only have that one subjective mind, and there's so much in the world that I want to discover - I just happened to do it through film.
My education endowed my interests with topics circulating around the use of archives, what it means to create, and your position as a subjective creator, as well as how to approach deeply rooted social issues. My studies in Visual Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam and my Masters in Documentary Filmmaking at the Goldsmiths University of London both taught me not to be afraid to use my voice in my projects and to always acknowledge the place that I come from and its effects on my pieces. For instance, being a woman in Lebanon comes with many frustrations that I compensate through my actresses in my movies. In addition, my experience in concert coordination and my passion for music have strongly shaped the way I produce and edit my projects.
My latest project is an experimental documentary "Persona(s)", which is about a female actress trying to find her place in this world- as we all are.
