Couldn't give it higher marks. Everyone was so amazing and helpful, Matt Vita did a great job running things. Need to specifically shoutout the networking event. The location was absolutely beautiful, and the vibe was so warm and supportive. Met so many amazing people and watched a ton of great films! Can't wait to make it back to Woodstock!

  • What a great experience! Four fun-filled days of screenings and parties in a beautiful setting run by some incredible people — Matt, Collen, Mark and Claire did a fabulous job of hosting. The 300-seat theater is perfect for a festival. Parties and special events were free and amazing, including an afternoon on the lake at a resort and a spritzer garden with food trucks and alcohol served ongoing in the courtyard behind the theater. Plus all filmmakers received a 10-minute local TV interview (anchored wonderfully by Brooklyn comedienne Nikki MacCallum). Resort Hotel stays were discounted but still pricey for low-budget filmmakers — but we found rooms nearby for $50 to $70 via Airbnb so it’s an affordable adventure for sure. You might wanna bring an actual physical map of the area with you since cell coverage is available only within town limits pretty much, meaning gps is mostly unavailable outside the towns. All in all, incredibly worthwhile and we hope to return with our next feature!

Had a great time at the VFF! The team not only put on screenings but also organized a 48-hour film challenge with tin the festival. Who does that? Brilliant. I can't wait to come back every year forever and ever.

VFF is a young festival with a big heart. Nestled in the gorgeous town of Woodstock, VT, the VFF should be on everybody's list. The team behind the festival is fun and enthusiastic, and the film program was strong. I can't wait to go back.

  • A new festival, but terrific through and through!! The organizers were in communication throughout the notifications and leading up to the festival, and I was thoroughly impressed by the festival even before finding out that our film won Best Documentary this year (Bearing Witness: A Name & A Voice). I'm grateful to the film jury and the festival organizers and excited for this new glowing ember of the film community in New England. Will definitely submit again.
