The Strong Mind Showcase will accept films of any genre under 8 minutes in length that fit the theme "making the invisible visible," and/or specifically addressing the topic of mental health.
Eligibility
* The Showcase is open to artists of all ages. Students are encouraged to submit to the student category.
* Participation is open to artists worldwide.
Submission Guidelines
* The submission period opens on May 24th and closes on September 22nd.
* Submissions are accepted in two primary categories: Short Film and Still Media (including paintings, photographs, digital art, and similar media).
* Only digital files are accepted. If a still art piece is selected, artists may present the original media or arrange for it to be printed for the showcase.
* Short films should be submitted through FilmFreeway, and still media through our designated online form [https://forms.gle/4cDFYWHcx75wJZBn9].
Entry Requirements
* All works must be original creations, though they may have been submitted elsewhere. They do not need to be created specifically for this showcase.
* Only one entry per artist, per category.
* All artwork must incorporate the theme of “making the invisible visible” and/or speak to mental health awareness.
* Short films must not exceed 8 minutes in total runtime.
* Non-English films must include English subtitles.
* An artist’s statement must accompany each submission.
Judging Criteria
* Finalists will be selected by the staff of The Strong Mind Project, with prize winners determined by an independent panel of judges.
* Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, and adherence to the theme. While technical skill is considered, the theme's interpretation is paramount.
Awards and Prizes
* The winner in each category will receive a $5,000 cash prize.
* Additional awards and categories may be announced as the event date approaches.
* Finalists selected for the in-person Showcase will be notified by October 2nd, with winners announced at the Showcase on October 20th.
Legal and Ethical Considerations
* Artists retain full ownership and copyright of their works. By submitting, artists grant The Strong Mind Project non-exclusive rights to distribute and utilize their works online and for promotional purposes.
* Disqualification may occur for submissions that do not adhere to the theme, fail to comply with the rules, or neglect to disclose the use of generative AI.
