THE PROMPT is an international film festival dedicated exclusively to short films created through artificial intelligence.

The festival takes place at CCA Gran Canaria – Centro de Cultura Audiovisual, one of the Canary Islands' leading public venues dedicated to cinema, photography and audiovisual arts. Operated by the Culture Department of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, the CCA promotes innovative audiovisual projects, film screenings, exhibitions and cultural events, providing an inspiring setting for filmmakers exploring the future of cinema.

We believe AI is not replacing cinema. It is expanding it.

Just as digital cameras, CGI and non-linear editing transformed filmmaking, generative AI is opening new creative territories. Our mission is to discover filmmakers who use these tools not as shortcuts, but as instruments for original storytelling, artistic experimentation and cinematic innovation.

THE PROMPT welcomes fiction, horror, science fiction, fantasy, animation, experimental films, documentaries, music videos and hybrid works, provided that artificial intelligence plays a substantial role in the creative or production process.

We are not looking for technical demonstrations.

We are looking for films.

A strong story, a unique visual language and a clear artistic vision will always matter more than the software used to create them.

Our international jury evaluates each work for its narrative strength, originality, direction, emotional impact and the creative integration of AI into the filmmaking process.

The festival celebrates artists who are redefining the language of cinema, exploring new forms of production while preserving the filmmaker's most important role: telling stories that could not exist without imagination.

Whether your film is entirely AI-generated or combines AI with traditional filmmaking techniques, if AI is an essential part of your creative process, we want to see it.

The future of cinema is not waiting.

It is already being projected.
