The New City Minute Film Festival. We honor the very short form. Getting to the point.
It isn't as easy as people may think. We know that. You know that. Show us what you can do.

We accept all Genres, but the time limit is set firm. 1 minute. Screenplays should be 1-page or equivalent to 1-minute if they were to be filmed. At the festival we encourage and nurture networking and audience encouragement of the hard work everyone has put in.

We will have a 1 day film festival including. There will be a Q&A with the filmmakers after the screening blocks, and an awards ceremony, where a trophy will be presented to the winner.

Rules & Terms

THE NEW CITY FILM MINUTE FESTIVAL (TNCMFF) SUBMISSION RULES

1. TNCMFF competition is open to the United States and International entries.
2. Films can not exceed 1 minute, or 60 seconds, including opening and closing credits. For the Two Minute Category, films can not exceed 2 minutes, or 120 seconds, including opening and closing credits.
3. Screenplays should be 1 page or equivalent to 1 minute of film if they were shot.
4. Screenplays must be in pdf, rtf, or txt format. Any other format might be disqualified (without refund).
5. All films must submit online preview screeners.
6. Foreign language entries must have English language subtitles.
7. Entries must have been completed in the past 5 years.
8. Applicants may submit as many entries as they wish, as long as each entry has a separate entry form and fee.
9. All emails must include the name of your film.
10. Any materials mailed in, will not be returned to the submitters.
11. TNCMFF has the right to screen any film or projects submitted to the TNCMFF. TNCMFF does not pay screening fees.
12. In order to receive any award trophy, the project's producer or director must be present. Otherwise, a digital certificate will be sent.
13. If [a film is] officially selected, it is the responsibility of the submitter to send the festival their film in digital format, as requested by festival.
14. All decisions made by the festival are final and at their discretion.

    It was a great experience, 3 film productions I worked on that were featured in the festival, all the films ran great on the big screen! The festival was ran very well by good people. It was a very fun film festival.

    This was an incredible festival. It was ran well by excellent people. The films looked and sounded great on the big screen. We were thrilled with our experience at New City; it was a blast. Can’t wait until next year!

    Wow! Amazing experience all around. The festival organizers did a fantastic job from top to bottom, and it was clear they truly cared about the filmmakers. The venue was incredible and the house was packed which always adds to the experience. I will definitely be submitting in the future and encourage everyone to do the same!
